Overview
ReelProfits Trading ("we", "us", or "our") operates the ReelProfits mobile application and the website at reelprofitstrading.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our services.
Information We Collect
The ReelProfits mobile app collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Authentication token — a bearer token used to authenticate with your private trading dashboard. Stored in your device's hardware-backed secure keychain (iOS SecureStore). Never transmitted to any third party.
- Environment preference — whether you last viewed the paper or live account (stored locally).
The ReelProfits website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics software beyond what is provided by the hosting infrastructure.
Biometric Data
The ReelProfits app offers Face ID and Touch ID authentication as a convenience feature. All biometric processing is performed entirely by Apple's operating system on your device. We never access, store, or transmit your biometric data. The app only receives a pass/fail result from the OS.
Trading Account Data
The app connects to your privately hosted trading dashboard to display account balances, open positions, trade history, and engine status. This data is fetched directly from your own server using your authentication token. We do not store, log, or transmit this data to any third-party service.
Your OANDA and Alpaca brokerage credentials are managed directly between you and those brokerages. ReelProfits does not have access to your brokerage login credentials.
Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are used in the delivery of our platform:
- Expo (expo.dev) — used to build and distribute the mobile app. Subject to Expo's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — used to deliver trade alerts to your device. No personal data is included in push notification payloads beyond the alert text.
- OANDA and Alpaca Markets — brokerage platforms whose APIs are queried by your private server. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
- DigitalOcean — cloud infrastructure provider hosting your private trading server. Subject to DigitalOcean's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — used on this website for typography. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Security
We take security seriously across all components of the ReelProfits platform:
- Authentication tokens are stored using iOS SecureStore, backed by the device's Secure Enclave where available.
- All communication between the mobile app and the trading dashboard is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- The trading dashboard requires bearer token authentication on every API request.
- No passwords or brokerage credentials are stored in the app.
Children's Privacy
ReelProfits is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Trading in financial markets carries substantial risk and is intended for adults only.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
